The book ‘Rear Window’ has developed from the drawings made by Cecilie Maurud Barstad at the beginning of the corona crisis. Her extraordinary illustrations are accompanied by short, pithy narratives. From the balcony of her flat, in the converted old Arsenal Stadium in London, she has spent weeks and months observing, studying, and drawing her neighbours in lockdown. In her colourful images and poetic texts the reader enters her back courtyard in Highbury with all its smells, conversations, noise and silence, sunshine and rain.

Foreword by Lene Renneflott, leader of Grafill. Author Benedicte Meyer Kroneberg has composed an essay, and Maurud Barstad is interviewed by arts writer Sondre Sommerfelt. Introduction by Cecilie Maurud Barstad and afterword by editor and designer Nina Ansten. The book is bilingual in English/Norwegian. English translations by Andrew J. Boyle.

The book is designed in Oslo by Ansten Studio. Printed and bound in Skien by ETN Grafisk and Bokbinderiet Johnsen.
