Ansten Press is an art book publisher specialising in design, content development and production of high-quality art books, artists’ books, museum catalogues and illustrated books.

Ansten Press works in close collaboration with artists, photographers and authors, and is the publishing partner of museums and art galleries. We take stock in the unique editorial vision of each publication – working carefully with editing, design and production values. Our publications are produced by local printers and crafts specialists.

The back story

Ansten Press is an independent publisher, founded in 2020 by Nina Ansten. She has many years’ experience in art education, design and communication services for the art field.

As designer, project leader, and editor—and with a keen interest in art, books and traditional craft methods—Ansten has acquired a comprehensive knowledge of the various phases of book production, and built up a network of highly proficient collaborators.

Ansten studied visual communication, photography and design at Central Saint Martins—University of the Arts London. She has worked on commission for, among others, Astrup Fearnley Museet, Equinor Art Programme, Kabuso Art Centre, Munch Museum, National Museum, Stavanger Art Museum, Thomas Tallis School London and Vestfossen Art Centre.
